I am first and foremost a learner. I enjoy the process of discovery that is at the heart of psychotherapy. By working with client's to discover their stories, I am able to help them uncover habits, wounds and unmet needs that interfere with their ability to fully live life.  To become your Optimal YOU.

I work from an experiential model. My goal is to help clients integrate the insight that comes from self reflection into meaningful change in their relationships and daily routines. I am committed to providing individualized treatment, working with each client to identify their goals and develop a specific plan to help them reach those goals. As an experiential therapist, I work in the here and now to help resolve the "there and then." I am in my 4th decade of marriage, a mother and grandmother, worker, colleague and friend. All of my roles and relationships inform my interactions with clients but don't overrule the content of the moment.

Training and Certifications: I am licensed in the State of Arizona as a certified professional counselor (LPC) and have a graduate certificate in Trauma, Abuse, and Deprivation. In addition, I am licensed as an independent substance abuse counselor (LISAC). I am both a certified therapist in (EMDR), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, and an approved Consultant and HAP facilitator. I have completed advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and am a certified practitioner in Psychodrama. I have specialty training in the treatment of addictive and compulsive behavior patterns, including self-harming behaviors, which are often rooted in family of origin issues or traumatic experiences. I am also trained to treat mood and anxiety disorders and relationship dynamics that complicate the recovery process. I am certified as a Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) and trained in clinical hypnosis. I utilize the practice of mindfulness as a treatment tool to integrate mind, body, and spirit; increasing both self-awareness and self-control. In addition, I facilitate groups in psychodrama at Psychological Counseling Services (PCS). I am currently working with a team of colleagues to develop a local Psychodrama Training Institute.

Professional Affiliations:  I am a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), the EMDR International Association, the Association of Group Psychotherapy and Psychodrama (ASGPP), the International Society for Trauma and Dissociation (ISST-d), the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP), and the International Association of Marriage and Family Counselors (AMFT).
